Cosmic

Multiple purple tones alternate with varying textures of dichroic glass. Traditional with new-wave. This piece was inspired by dragon's breath glass cabochons. I continued the theme of making the strap functional as a waist chain as well. The gussets are made of a repurposed, thin chainmail belt (also reportedly vintage from the 80's). Can be lined with silk, just fill out the contact form to request.

Part 2 of 5: 
The Cosmic came next. I went into my purple scrap glass pile and tried my best to salvage and cut perfect squares. While the variations in purple were beautiful, I knew this piece needed some dimension from dichroic glass. The patchwork purse felt very earthly, but the cosmic purse was meant to be mystical. Instead of dissociating to the astral realm, I began to surrender to a co-creative process with "the great mystery". Receiving ideas, running them through my own filter, and bringing them into form kept me rooted. This shift to receptivity allowed me to be open to the idea that light is being shown on the monsters among us for a reason. Being confronted with what has long remained hidden can become a catalyst for evolution. We can no longer afford to look away. I also began to notice a pattern with the waist chains. I was being guided to make adornments for the area of the body between the 2nd and 3rd chakras...
