Inspired by Edie Parker's lighter craze and the bejeweling trend, this box is made of mirror glass and colorful czech glass cabochons that I purposely offset from the grid pattern. Lined with a deep magenta silk from Vietnam. This will not fit your iphone, but it can fit your tarot cards! For that reason, I refrained from adding gussets. The intention for this box is to customize it further; whether you affix gems to it, etch the mirror with your art, write affirmations with enamel paints, etc. it's meant to be personalized!

This piece had to be forced through me. I didn't want to make it, but I got the download to make it. I even tried stopping after everything was cut, ground, and foiled- I simply wasn't interested in it. Then I quieted my mind and reflected (mirror glass, get it?!) on the meaning. When you willingly do this type of shadow work, you begin to become unprogrammable. You see people for who they are. You reject the naive "love & light" narrative because that isn't reality. You unmask, stop trying to fit in, and look like a weirdo to all the conformists who would not dare disrupt the capitalist greed machine! Just looking at this piece makes your eye twitch, doesn't it? Why aren't the colorful gems perfectly in their places within the gridlines? There's certainly meaning in this. Another pattern I began to notice was the introduction of the circle, rounding out the square edges from the 2 previous pieces...
